OUR FOUNDER

NaturalAnnie Essentials is a black woman owned and family operated business. All products are made in our Bridgeport, Connecticut studio to ensure the highest quality and effectiveness. Annie is heavily influenced by her Jamaican culture and has mastered the ability to use scents to transport others to a tropical place.

THE STORY BEHIND THE BRAND

When Annie's first daughter was born with spina bifida and hydrocephalus, she turned to natural remedies to help her after she had a severe skin breakout due to a number of surgeries. Annie was born and raised on the beautiful island of Jamaica with her grandparents where it was the norm to use herbs and oils for medicinal purposes, so when she got undesirable results from prescribed medications, she turned to her roots for a remedy. Her blends of essential oils, herbs, and natural butters were what finally got her daughter some relief. Annie's passion and knowledge grew and so she later decided to channel them into developing this unique brand...and so NaturalAnnie Essentials burst into life!

The company started in 2015 in Annie's kitchen with a line of skincare products. In a short time she was selling in over 60 independent stores across the USA and Canada. 

In 2016 Annie introduced soy candles to the product line as they were in high demands by her customers. She realized the potentials – a trending market for candles, an established brand in adjacent products, and a strong customer base to generate new sales. The candles were introduced to her already excited and loyal customers and soon they were a hit!

Short months after, her soy candles became 80% of the products she realized she was making. At that time she had to make the hard decision to  pause production of the skin care products and moved forward with soy candles. Today NaturalAnnie Essentials is popularly know for it highly fragrant soy candles.

 

 

THE PRODUCTS

At NaturalAnnie Essentials our passion is creating premium scented soy candles that are safe for you and your entire family. Our candles are scented with a mix of essential oils & oil blends that are 100% vegan, 100% eco-friendly. The oils are never diluted, so each has a strong concentrated aroma that doesn't disappear when burned in a candle.

Our candles are hand-poured into a beautiful reusable amber glass container with a gold metal lid. Made with all-natural soy wax and ECO wicks which are free from lead and zinc.

 

Our Space, Our Purpose

The candle bar is an extension of the NaturalAnnie Essentials brand and a community-centered candle-making experience where creativity, connection, and culture come together. Located in Bridgeport, Connecticut, our candle bar was created to be more than a venue, it’s a gathering place where people feel welcome, inspired, and connected the moment they walk in.

Our hands-on candle-making experiences invite guests to create custom candles using clean-burning wax and premium fragrance oils in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, planning a date night, hosting a girls’ night, or gathering a group for something different, the candle bar offers a creative space to slow down, show up, and connect.

Community building is at the heart of everything we do. We intentionally design experiences that bring together friends, coworkers, couples, creatives, and first-time guests, turning shared moments into meaningful connections. Our space also serves as a hub for private parties, corporate team-building events, workshops, and local collaborations that uplift small businesses and strengthen our community.

Our mission goes beyond candle-making. Every pour is an opportunity for self-expression, conversation, and belonging.
